Its large diaphragm cardioid capsule descends from the classic U 87 and adds a gentle presence boost above 5 kHz for a direct, clearly defined sound. Transformerless circuitry holds self noise to 7 dB-A, while 23 mV/Pa sensitivity and 138 dB SPL capability suit close vocals and loud sources.
