A 290 mm square conical straight truss section, 1.5 metres (4.92 feet) long. It is a short make-up length in the SCT290 straight range — used to close a span that a 2- or 3-metre section overshoots, or to build a compact tower leg. The 290 mm conical system connects with cones and pins rather than bolted plates, so sections go together fast and land in the same place every time. An X-end version of the same length is offered as SCT290-415-X where a run needs a cross-end connection.
