The taller frame gives more clearance under the plate than a 1-inch version, so power and data can run beneath a tower base rather than around it, and a fork or bar slides under the edge when the plate needs to be shifted on a loaded deck. The 30-inch square footprint is the common size for ground-support towers and goal-post uprights on corporate and touring stages. Aluminum construction keeps the handling weight down against steel plates of the same footprint.
