Conical truss joins by seating a male cone into a female receiver and driving a pin through — no bolts, no wrenches, and a joint that pulls tight as it seats. Pins are consumables on a touring rig: they get dropped in the dark, walked off in a load-out and bent under abuse, so a spare pack in the rigging box keeps the truss assembling on schedule.
