A 20" x 20" steel base plate with a 9 mm thick top plate carried on a 1" raised frame, fitted with one welded 1-1/2" schedule 40 flange. The flange takes a schedule 40 pipe upright directly, so this plate is the footing for lighting stands, drape uprights, signage and small tube structures. Steel gives it more dead weight than the aluminum plates in the range, which is the point when the ballast itself is doing the work. The 1" raised frame lifts the plate to clear cable and floor irregularities.
