A Theatre Series steel base plate, 24 by 24 inches with a 9mm thick top plate and two 1.5-inch schedule 40 flanges welded in place. Two flanges rather than one means the plate carries a pair of uprights, which is how a boom position or a two-tube ladder gets built without doubling the floor footprint. Steel supplies the dead weight that keeps a loaded vertical stable, and the welded flanges remove the bolt-up step at load-in. Casters are available as an option when the position needs to move between scenes.
