A steel base plate for ground-supported truss: 30 by 30 inches of 9 mm plate on a 1-inch raised frame, with one welded 1-1/2 inch schedule 40 flange. The flange takes a standard schedule 40 upright, so the plate doubles as a pipe base for lighting booms, drape uprights and camera positions. Steel adds ballast where an aluminum plate would need extra weight on top of it, and the raised frame keeps the plate face clear of cable runs while letting a cart or hand truck slide underneath.
